Series 90000

Series 90000

Our Series 90000 GPS Interface System combines a digital LCD Engine Hour Meter, Tachometer, Fuel Flowmeter, Fuel Totalizer and Liters per Nautical Mile over the ground in a single 86mm diameter instrument which fits the panel space of a standard tachometer. The speed signal required to calculate the l/nm reading is obtained from GPS and Loran systems having a NMEA 0183 serial port output.

The direct display of Liters per Nautical Mile over the ground gives the skipper a powerful new tool to set optimum fuel efficiency under all conditions and to determine precisely how far he can go with his remaining fuel.

Features

  • Fits most gas engines rated from 25 hp to 2000 hp. Twin gas models available.

  • Microprocessor based electronics with 2-stage adjustable calibration of LPH & liters used for superior accuracy.
  • Simultaneous independent display of engine hour time, RPM, LPH, liters consumed, and liters per nautical mile. Twin gas model displays the l/nm rate for BOTH engines underway.
  • RPM readout accurate to 10 RPM. Easily connects to existing tach signal wires.
  • LPH and Totalizer readings displayed in tenths of a liter. Totalizer capacity up to 99,999 liters.
  • Dual color (amber/green) backlighting of LCD provides for easy night viewing.
  • Single and twin engine models require 1 SPST push button panel switch for resetting fuel totalizer reading.
  • Single and twin engine models require 1 SPST toggle switch for accessing LNM reading.
  • Twin gas models also incorporate an Engine Synchronizer Indicator and Port/Stbd LPH selection. 2 additional SPST toggle switches are required for accessing these features.
  • Meter fits 86mm panel opening (standard tach size). Can replace existing tachs in panel.
  • Models available in black or white (bezel/dial face).
  • Uses Model 20A, 2OB, 231, and 233 Series flow sensors designed for gas engines.

Applications

Fits all carbureted inboard and stern drive engines up to 350 hp.

Fits all EFI inboard and stern drive engines (including Mercruiser and Volvo) with closed loop fuel return systems.

Fits all Mercury Optimax, Evinrude Ficht, Yamaha HPDI, and Honda 4-stroke engines.

Fits all 2-stroke EFI outboard engines.

Important note for the following outboard engine owners:

    • Evinrude E-Tec 2-cycle
    • Mercury Verado 4-cycle
    • Suzuki 4-cycle
    • Yamaha 4-cycle

The engines listed above have two fuel pumps. Because the engine's lift, or low pressure pump cycles on and off while filling the vapor separation module, the FloScan instrument GPH/LPH readings will constantly fluctuate between 0 GPH/LPH and approximately 25-50 GPH or 95-190 LPH depending on lift pump and engine size. Though the GPH/LPH readings are unusable, the FloScan instrument will accurately record total fuel consumption as displayed in the totalizer window.

    Accuracy +
Foss Maritime, one of the largest tug boat companies with over 200 vessels operating worldwide, tested FloScan Fuel Computers on the M/V Justine Foss powered by twin EMD 12-645 2150 hp engines. This tug operated between Washington and Alaska running approximately 1000 nautical miles each way. The Justine Foss made 8 round trips using approximately 80,000 gallons of fuel per trip.
    Huge Savings
BREMERTON — Thousands of gallons of diesel fuel can be saved by slowing Bainbridge Island-Seattle ferries by a couple of knots in off-peak runs, state officials say — and they're going for it. A four-week fuel conservation study confirmed that at least a million gallons of fuel can be saved annually, about 90,000 gallons a month,
